Google just announced they are putting Gemini between brands and their customers’ inboxes.
That means a lot of emails will get summarized, filtered, or never really seen in full. With AI Inbox, Gmail is going to surface what it thinks is important based on relationship signals and what the model thinks matters to that person.
So email teams now have two readers: people, and the system that interprets the email first. If the system can’t quickly understand what the email is, what matters, and what to do next, results become inconsistent. Machine readability is now part of the craft.
